DI appoints Libby Drew to board of directors

Libby Drew has joined Development Initiatives’ (DI’s) board in 2019.

DI is pleased to announce that Libby Drew has been appointed to the organisation’s board of non-executive directors. She joins board members Diane Kingston OBE, Paul Stuart, Timothy Takona, Tina Blazquez-Lopez and Professor Alex Ezeh, whose appointments were announced earlier this year.

Libby is the founding director of On Our Radar, a non-profit communications agency for unheard communities. On Our Radar works to create new channels and opportunities for people on the margins of society worldwide to share news and insight.

Prior to founding On Our Radar, Libby worked for several years with a humanitarian organisation supporting health and advocacy programmes in Palestine and the refugee camps of Lebanon. After retraining as a multimedia journalist with the NCTJ, she won the Guardian International Development Journalism Award in 2010 and featured in Journalism.co.uk's list of top female innovators in digital media in 2013. She is also an associate of the UNAOC Intercultural Leaders Network and the BMW Responsible Leaders Network.

Libby’s skills, experience and perspective will complement the considerable acumen of DI’s existing board, which serves to provide advice, support and strategic direction to the organisation. Her appointment comes as part of DI’s planned 2019 board transition.

It is a critical time to be using data to understand and eradicate poverty, ensuring those living in poverty are leading that conversation.
