Ukraine is humanitarian priority for Central and Eastern European donors

Central and Eastern European donors have prioritised Ukraine for bilateral humanitarian assistance since the crisis began in February 2014.

Four Central and Eastern European donors have committed their highest share of humanitarian assistance over 2014 and 2015 to Ukraine. Ukraine also appears in the top three recipients for the Czech Republic and Hungary over the same period. Overall, donors from Central and Eastern Europe committed or contributed US$4 million to Ukraine between February 2014 and March 2015, representing over 4% of total commitments. These six donors also provide funding to the EU institutions that have contributed 36% of the total humanitarian assistance to Ukraine over the same period.
