devinit.org has radical overhaul
Development Initiatives is today launching its updated and user-friendly group website. The new site sports a more up-to-date look, and is designed to better showcase our people, our message, and the various "Initiatives" – our programmes that work to eliminate poverty through the transformative power of information.
The site has been re-organised into sections "About us", "Initiatives", "News" and "Contact" details. A press room has also been added.
Development Initiatives recognises that an interesting and insightful web presence is an essential part of our work to build a global stop-poverty guarantee: addressing the local and international forces that push people into poverty and the traps that keep them poor.
New features include:
-
Regularly updated news from both the programme Initiatives and from the organisation HQ.
-
Updated portfolio of our consultancy work – our research and lessons learnt working with aid donor organisations, aid professionals and other interested partners over the years.
-
Bios of the full Development Initiatives team
-
Overview and links to the programme Initiatives, including aidinfo, the Global Humanitarian Assistance programme, ONE/Data, and an overview of our major partners.
Development Initiatives is a group of people committed to eliminating poverty.
We engage to promote better understanding of risk, vulnerability and needs; and to increase access to, understanding and use of information about the resources available for poverty reduction at all levels.
We try to empower by putting this information, and the capacity to use it, in the hands of those who need it - so that poor people can tell decision makers about the impact of money spent in their name.
We want to help eliminate poverty by making the global stop-poverty guarantee a reality – health, education, water and sanitation, income, human security and information – for all.
