2010 Data Report launched 25th May
As the last instalment in a five-year series, the 2010 DATA Report offers a comprehensive assessment on the delivery of the 2005 Gleneagles commitments. Based on these successes and shortcomings, the changing landscape, and the priorities of African partners, it makes a series of recommendations that inform stronger partnership to help Africa meet the MGDs by 2015 and ‘end extreme Poverty in our time’.
The Gleneagles commitments have not been delivered in full, but the past five years have resulted in historic increases in development assistance and debt Cancellation for Africa. The G7 are on track to deliver a $13.7 billion increase, or 61% of the development assistance increases promised. The final G7 assessment, however, should be determined by ambition, delivery and vision beyond 2010.
