About Development InitiativesDevelopment Initiatives is an independent organisation that provides research and consultancy services on aid, development and poverty reduction. We work with people in donor governments, OECD DAC, agencies, NGOs and the academic community to interpret and communicate aid and development data, policy and practice. As well as working to deliver research and consultancy services on behalf of others, Development Initiatives encourages contacts between individuals, groups and organisations that share its commitment to eradicating absolute poverty. More > Development Initiatives was established by Judith Randel and Tony German as a private consultancy in 1992. A separate not-for-profit arm now runs alongside the consultancy business. Both organisations remain firmly under the Development Initiatives umbrella. PeopleDevelopment Initiatives believes that personal links underpin the effective communication of development issues. They are vital to forging effective relationships within and between development organisations. We like to work with people who share these values. Established by Judith Randel and Tony German in 1992, Development Initiatives operates through a network of employees, partners and individuals based in OECD and developing countries. LocationThe main Development Initiatives office is in Wells, Somerset, UK. We are about 20 miles south of Bristol and 125 miles to the west of London. But many staff and consultants work from their own homes and small offices around the world – from nearby Bristol and London to Norfolk and Addis Ababa.
